Teals, George Farm, Wothorpe, Stamford

We have completed the submission of the Planning Application for the erection of the new Teals Farm Shop together with all associated parking, landscape and infrastructure on George Farm. This site is part of the Burghley Estate and represents the foundation of a strategic partnership between our Client and the Estate.

The application includes the demolition of a large redundant granary store but importantly retains existing features such as a distinctive stone field boundary wall and a range of existing barns.

The scheme builds on the success of Teals in Somerset and is the first of a planned expansion and development of the brand across the country. The same sustainable credentials apply in respect to the marketing and sale of local sourced products and produce. The building embodies the same principles.

We have assisted Teals over a number of years and first looked at this site on their behalf almost exactly 2 years ago, in August 2022. The design process has been thorough and quite challenging at times however we believe that it has been worth the time and effort.

The site plan and general arrangement has been very carefully considered as the main entrance will be used by large agricultural vehicles when gathering harvest as well as the visitors and patrons of the Farm Shop.

Integration in the landscape and the creation of an attractive setting and a positive visitor experience from the point of parking to the purchase of produce has been a key part of the design. Parking is arranged across a variety of areas to minimise the impact and to ensure that good accessibility is achieved from all parts of the site.

We are thrilled to have been involved in this exciting and innovative project and look forward to seeing the scheme through to completion.
