The Site

Forge Design Studio’s very first project!

Working alongside VolkerFitzpatrick, we successfully delivered the new RFU Training Facility for the English Elite Rugby Squad at Pennyhill Park Hotel, Bagshot back in 2013. Situated alongside the existing training facilities, the building provides a new state of the art facility including an indoor 3G Artificial Pitch, Gymnasium and associated ancillary accommodation.

Forge Design Studio worked closely with the Contractor Team through-out the tender and design development stage. Our architects were responsible for design co-ordination, liaison and production of all relevant construction information.

Construction work has now been completed, and following a successful launch event, the England Rugby Squad were able to train at the facility before the start of the 2014 Autumn Internationals at Twickenham.

The new facility has become very well established as the home base for the England Team Rugby in time for the 2015 World Cup. It has become well known as the backdrop to many television interviews and pre-match features.

Since then, it has been used for numerous training camps, including prior to the 2019 World Cup in Japan. It has also been used by the NFL teams when visiting London to take part in the showpiece games at Wembley. The building and facilities have demonstrated its flexibility and robustness through-out this time.
