A feasibility study prepared in-conjunction with a national steelwork fabricator, which developed a scheme to re-provide a new private airport terminal for a major overseas Oil Company. The brief required the building to be capable of rapid delivery so detailed consideration was given to pre-fabrication, off-site construction and modern methods of construction.
It was intended that the modular building shell would be capable of being made in the factory in Poole before being packaged into containers and shipped to the site. Response to the climate and the limited palette and availability of local materials gave rise to the building form. The building will accommodate private company air traffic and personnel but has the capability of wider, commercial use.
