Rose & Crown, Permission Granted!

One of our longest running projects has finally received confirmation of the latest planning approval. Following consent received in June 2021 the property and site went through a change in ownership.

The new consortium were keen to re-visit the consent and worked closely with the local Parish Council and all interested parties to re-invigorate the scheme. Alternative proposals were established to access the site whilst retaining some dedicated parking for the pub. A new design was suggested for the Barn taking consideration of the viability of retention and a further review of the mix and number of units was undertaken.

The proposed scheme retained much of the previous consent but more fully embraced the  requirements of the local community and their aspirations for the longevity of the Pub.

A positive relationship was established with the Local Authority which eventually led to the issue of the decision notice via delegated powers after a lengthy period of negotiation over the details of the section 106.

The timescale called for a great deal of stamina with the revised application made in February leading to an October decision: this for a project which is policy compliant and had the full support of the officers and the local community!!

Shows what we are up against when we get asked by prospective clients how long planning approval will take??

We wish the owners and community groups good luck with the implementation of the scheme.
